The ICE fax not cometh

February 20, 2017 by admin 26 Comments

Fox News has reported that one of the suspects accused of killing a man at a Denver light rail station was in custody in Denver, and wanted for possible deportation by federal authorities, when he was released from jail weeks before the murder.

According to ICE officials, “At the time of his arrest, ICE placed a detainer with the Denver County Jail. The detainer wasn’t honored, and he was released by the jail Dec. 20, 2016, without notification to ICE. Valles is a known gang member whose gang history is documented in the Colorado gang database. Due to his criminal history and gang affiliation, Valles is an ICE immigration enforcement priority.”

ICE is hot over this one

In answering ICE’s allegation, a Denver Sheriff Department spokesman responded Friday night, saying “ICE was told about Valles’ release before it happened. He was released once he posted $5,000 bond.”

But a copy of the fax sent by the Denver PD, purportedly showing compliance with the ICE detainer, shows that Ever Andres Valles, 19, a citizen of Mexico, was actually released 5 minutes BEFORE the fax was sent to ICE.  (click this link)

Halal Swedish Meatballs

The Swedish Chef

Once again, President Trump has provoked a media firestorm by a brief comment.  Speaking at a rally in Florida on Saturday morning, he remarked about a Friday night FoxNews piece on the causal effect between Muslim immigration and surging crime rates in Sweden.  “You look at what’s happening last night in Sweden,” Trump said. “Sweden. Who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They’re having problems like they never thought possible.”
Trump’s reference was confusing to those who had not seen the Tucker Carlson show the night before.  Liberal media (who likely are not followers of Carlson’s hugely successful primetime FoxNews program) seized on the chance to misinterpret the remark, reporting that Trump was either inventing, or hallucinating about, a Friday night terror event in Sweden (no such thing happened).  As if on command, left-wingers online exploded in frenzied attacks on Trump, like a swarm of piranha after a swimmer.
Today, the internet roils in struggling to find the truth about the Muslim-related crime rates in Sweden, even inside Sweden itself, where the PC government cautiously downplays the subject, yet a career police officer’s post that it’s actually out of control went instantly viral.
To clear everything up, we offer this quote from the Muppets’ Swedish Chef: “Gersh gurndy morn-dee burn-dee, burn-dee, flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip-flip.”

Happy Precedent’s Day

February 20, 2017 by admin 27 Comments

This year on President’s Day 2017, we have many things to take note of that have never before been associated with a U.S. President.  A time of notable precedents, indeed.

Donald Trump, number 45 on the presidential hit parade, sets a series of first-evers, ie.:

  1. At 70, he is the oldest incoming President.
  2. A multi-billionaire, he is the wealthiest President ever. (Tax returns?)
  3. His wife, Melania, is the first FLOTUS to have posed nude.  (Publically, that is.)
  4. He is the first President to have his own line of “super premium” vodka.  (And he doesn’t drink!)
  5. The first president to have owned a professional football team.  (Okay, USFL, but still…)
  6. He owns the tallest residential building in the world. (Trump Tower @ 90 stories)
  7. He was the producer and star of a TV reality show – The Apprentice (earning $375,000 per episode!)
  8. No president has ever been threatened with impeachment before being sworn in. (And continues to be.)
  9. No sitting President has been married three times.
  10. He has his own luxury jumbo jet, helicopter, and golf courses.

Number One

There is little doubt that we have yet to see the last of the firsts with this man, who is by far the most “precedential” Chief Executive to occupy the oval office to date.

Next year’s list should be longer.
