A Day Without A Woman
Several schools in at least four states are closed today so teachers can participate in “A Day Without a Woman” strike in which organizers are urging female workers to stay home.
For over a century, women have fought for the right to get out of the kitchen and join the workforce alongside of men, to prove that they are equals in society.
Now that they have achieved workplace parity, they are going to take the day off.
Go figure.

A Day Without A Woman is almost laughable. Sure ladies, skip out of the workplace for a day and you will soon discover that you are as equally as replaceable as your male counterparts would be if they pulled this same stunt.
I had the joy of spending yesterday afternoon, “International Women’s Day”, beside my husband in a school meeting for our oldest, engaging with a room full of female educators; The dean of students, also a working mother.
I spent the rest of my evening working. I am a female entrepreneur in a country that has provided me the freedom and opportunity to be anything my pretty little heart desires.

You could even be modest if you wanted too……

Once upon a time I upheld modesty as the highest virtue, now it is the honesty of vulnerability and transparency that appeals to my heart.
“Modesty is a learned affectation. And as soon as life slams the modest person against the wall, that modesty drops.”
